Once Upon a Needle is a collaboration of three teddy bear artists, Terri Larson, Lincoln, NE; Joel Hoy, Lee’s Summit, MO; Peggy Fleming, Des Moines, IA. We’ve all had life changes that have caused us to retire from full-time bear-making, but we don’t want to give it up entirely and we want to keep our creative edge. We miss going to teddy bear shows and seeing our collectors and other artists, so this blog is an attempt to stay in touch with those people.

It’s also an attempt to keep us in touch with each other and keep us actively creating. We have issued challenges to each other, held creative weekend retreats, and produced online gallery shows. We’ll keep posting about things we are doing so you don’t have to wonder “Whatever happened to…”
